The following was posted on the Sumpter Township Police Facebook Page at 4:16 p.m., Oct. 5:
Tyler Hancock, 22, of Belleville was arraigned earlier today in the 34th District Court on a total of six charges: three felony counts of False Report or Threat of Terrorism and three felony counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He was given a total of $110,000/10% bond and ordered to wear a tether [if released].
The charges follow a joint investigation by Sumpter Township and Belleville police. The investigation was a result of several recent threats of violence made against both police departments and Van Buren Public Schools, [allegedly] by Hancock through fake social media and email accounts he created.
