Attorney Robert Coutts announces his candidacy for 34th District Court Judge. The 34th District Court serves the cities of Romulus and Belleville, and the townships of Huron, Sumpter, and Van Buren.
Coutts, who lives in Van Buren Township, is a practicing trial lawyer with 30 years of experience with trials in a wide range of areas in the law, including federal district court, state district and circuit court, bankruptcy adversary trials, divorce, custody, workers’ compensation, felony, and misdemeanor criminal trials.
While maintaining his full-time law practice, Coutts is also active in the community where he resides.
He is a former member of the Van Buren Public Schools Board of Education, Belleville Rotary Club member (2001-present), president of Belleville Rotary Club for two terms, presently on the board of directors of the Rotary Club’s Charles Cozadd Foundation, on the scholarship committee for the Rotary Club, and administrator of the Belleville Moose Lodge #934 (2010-present). The Moose is a non-profit organization designed to assist children and senior citizens.
Coutts also serves as legal counsel to the National Strawberry Festival in Belleville (2005-present).
