At about noon on Sunday, Dec. 29, a Belleville Police car and a private vehicle collided on South Street in the area where the Glass Ranch and Dr. Norman MacDermid’s office are located.
Police Chief Gene Taylor said the officer was clearing a traffic stop to go on a medical run when the accident occurred. He said there were no injuries, no high speeds and it is considered a minor accident.
He said he called the Michigan State Police in to investigate the accident so everyone will know an outside agency did the investigation.
Chief Taylor said the patrol car will be sidelined until insurance representatives can look at it.
The police car had damage on the driver’s side front fender. The little, blue car had damage on the front fender of the passenger side.
