Shaylett Stuckey, 2015 Mrs. Michigan America and a resident of Van Buren Township, was honored by the VBT Board of Trustees at its April 7 regular meeting.
She said she is working her way to the national Mrs. America contest with her jewelry business.
The convention will be held in Sevastopol, Ukraine, a seaside port on the Crimean peninsula. She is seeking 10 local small businesses to donate $100 each to be recognized as her sponsors.
“I’ll do the legwork and work to get to the convention,” Stuckey said. “I’m so excited.” Those wishing to donate to help her get to the competition can do so using her new GoFundMe page at http://www.gofundme/rc7urb3 . For more information email her at [email protected] .
