The public is invited to join in a discussion at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, concerning the solar eclipse that is coming on Aug. 21.
Eastern Michigan University physics professor Jesse Mason will be at the library to talk about why an eclipse happens, how much will be visible in Michigan, and where to get the best view.
Afterward, participants will be invited outdoors for a telescope-aided viewing of the night sky (weather permitting). This is a program for adults and children ages six and older.
Participants are asked to wear weather-appropriate clothing for the outdoor portion of the program.
