On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Kevin Cox signed a temporary stay on delivery of radioactive waste to Wayne Disposal, Inc. in Van Buren Township. A hearing will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 26, before Judge Cox and will be accessible by zoom.
Brandon Michael Grysko, attorney retained for the litigation, filed the complaint on Monday, Sept. 16, asking for a stay.
Grysko and attorney Stephen Joseph Brown have been retained by Canton Township, City of Belleville, City of Romulus, Van Buren Township, and Van Buren Township Fire Chief. The case is referred to on the court website as City of Belleville vs. Wayne Disposal, Inc., Case No. 24-013420-CH.
A status conference has been scheduled for 8 a.m., Dec. 16.
