If you are not at a meeting at around 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, you should be.
“No King” demonstrators want you to support them on the Quirk Road pedestrian walkway over I-94 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
They’ll be protesting the President of the United States and other issues. They already did it on June 14 and they plan to do it again on June 26.
Then, you can hurry over to Wayne County Community College on Haggerty Road for an official public meeting set by EGLE (the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy) at 6 p.m. to talk about the new, expanded license being sought by Wayne Disposal, the toxic waste landfill on the North I-94 Service Drive.
There will be demonstrators there too –these are against radioactive waste for this area so near the river, lake, and Great Lakes. They plan to have signs and flyers to give out.
Also, the city of Belleville is having a special meeting at 6 p.m. to consider its new budget which must be approved by the end of this month.
It’s been held up in its progress by the firing of the city manager, we’re told over budget issues.
The weather has cooled down a bit, so we all can do our obligations as citizens to support ideas we like and speak against things we don’t like. Take your choice.
