The long ballot for Tuesday’s, Nov. 6, mid-term election has a lot of decisions for voters, important decisions.
While all those running for the school board and library board are great candidates, be sure to pick your favorites and support them with a vote.
The Sumpter Township election to fill three appointed positions with elected officials until 2020 is hotly contested. While the clerk and treasurer positions have but one Democrat on the ballot, each has an officially filed, write-in candidate running. Write-in campaigns are difficult to win, but Mike Duggan won his write-in campaign for Detroit Mayor. It’s possible to win.
The trustee position has three candidates listed: A Democrat, a Republican, and a candidate with no party. This seems a more-polite race, except one Democrat voiced concerns about the township supervisor having a Republican’s sign in his front yard after all the money he’s taken from the Democrats for his campaigns.
There are high-profile Republicans and Democrats coming to Michigan to promote their congressional candidates and people on the Quirk Road pedestrian overpass over I-94 walking away from their party to support another party. And, four important proposals.
Be sure to make your thoughts known by going to the polls on Nov. 6 or getting an absentee ballot and voting.
