Dorothy Chizmar Ticknor, who graduated from Belleville High School in 1934, was surprised by a 100th birthday celebration put on by family and friends June 10 at Webber’s in Ann Arbor.
After living in Belleville and St. Joseph, MI, over the years, she now resides with her daughter Sally Rendell in Chelsea. She also has two sons, Jim Ticknor of Ann Arbor and Tom Ticknor of suburban Chicago.
Her sister Emma Chizmar Sala of Sumpter Township predeceased Dorothy. Emma’s sons David Sala of South Lyon and Elliott Sala of Ypsilanti Township were among those attending the party.
Bill Chizmar, a former principal in the Van Buren Public Schools, is Dorothy’s nephew. He also attended the party.
