Arceini Jonel Gray
Arceini Jonel Gray, 35, of Inkster is charged with having a blood alcohol content of .17 or more and carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated on April 30, 2023 in Van Buren Township. He was scheduled for a remote arraignment/pretrial on Jan. 8, 2025 and then show-cause/arraignment on Jan. 29. Final pretrial was set for Feb. 19. He pled guilty to reduced charges of operating while visibly impaired and was sent to probation for a sentence recommendation. He pled guilty to carrying a concealed weapon under the influence.
On Feb. 25 there was a notice of non-compliance on his OWVI charge. A probation module action was taken on Feb. 27 on all counts and was scheduled for review on March 10 and a pre-sentence interview on March 31.
Jacob Michael Sheppard
Jacob Michael Sheppard of Milford was charged with assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder (strangulation) and domestic violence on Feb. 17 in Van Buren Township. He was video-arraigned in custody on Feb. 20 and he was called a habitual offender-4th offense notice-felony. Bond was $10,000/10% and the probable cause conference set for March 5.
The live preliminary exam was held April 16 and the charges were dismissed on a motion of the defendant and the case closed.
Blake Dylan Coskie
Blake Dylan Coskie, 22, of Sumpter Township is charged with failure to report an accident to fixtures on Nov. 25, 2024 in the city of Belleville. The complaint was issued Feb. 28, 2025. His arraignment / pretrial was set for March 19. He said he just retained defense attorney William Maze and Maze filed by email on March 19. On March 20, the case was adjourned until April 2 for a remote arraignment/pretrial by zoom. At that time, he pled guilty. His fine was $245 and he was given six months delayed sentence upon which time the charge will be dismissed if there are no other charges.
Jalal Salim Safah
Jalal Salim Safah, 30, of Detroit is charged with assault/assault and battery and receiving and concealing stolen property less than $200 on May 14, 2021 in Van Buren Township.
His remote pretrial was set for March 19, 2025. He is not to return to Meijer.
On March 5, his mother paid 10% bond in cash to cancel her son’s warrant. He is in the Oakland County Jail and was due to be made present remotely for his March 19 pretrial. He was out of custody and failed to appear so a bench warrant was issued and then recalled. He was scheduled for a remote show cause / arraignment / pretrial on April 16. He now is scheduled for a final pretrial on May 14.
Justin Case Smith
Justin Case Smith, 41, of Perrysburg, Ohio, was video-arraigned in custody before Judge Oakley on April 22 for two charges of possession of narcotics on May 17, 2023, brought by Western Wayne Narcotics, and four bench warrants for retail fraud charges on May 2, 7, 8, and 11, 2023 in Van Buren Township.
His next court date on the drug charges is a probable cause conference on April 30. He is set for a remote pretrial on May 13 on the retail fraud charges.
The defendant has a $10,000/10% bond on the drug charges and $1,000 personal bond on the retail fraud charges.
