Chad Michael Jones
Chad Michael Jones of Sumpter Township was video-arraigned on April 8 by 34th District Court Judge Lisa Martin while he was in custody of the Wayne County Sheriff on ten outstanding cases.
He had driving while license suspended cases from Huron, Sumpter, and Van Buren townships, and seven retail fraud cases out of Van Buren, with some of the cases going back as far as 2019.
Pretrials on the cases were set for April 17 and personal bond is $3,000, with one retail fraud having a bond of $2,000/10%.
Also, the Huron Township DWLS pretrial was set for April 24 with a personal bond of $1,000.
Shacori Davonye Davis
Shacori Davonye Davis, 31, of Ypsilanti and formerly of Sumpter Township, was video-arraigned in custody on March 25 on charges of fleeing a police officer-4th degree and assaulting / resisting / obstructing a police officer on Nov. 10, 2023 in Sumpter Township.
Bond was set at $5,000/10% and her warrant was canceled from LEIN. A probable cause conference was held April 2 and her preliminary exam set for April 9.
Karon Jihad Journey
Karon Jihad Journey of Warren was video-arraigned in custody on March 24 at 34th District Court on charges of operating while intoxicated-3rd and driving while license suspended on Oct. 28, 2023 in Van Buren Township. Entry date of the charges was Dec. 11, 2024. Personal bond was set at $5,000 and a probable cause conference for April 2.
The defendant may not drive since he has no valid license and is not to use any mood-altering substances while on this bond. The probable cause conference was adjourned until May 14 to give the defense attorney time to submit mitigation information to the prosecutor.
Deven Lee Cobb
Deven Lee Cobb of Fort Wayne, IN, was video-arraigned in custody on March 24 on a charge of retail fraud on March 14 in Van Buren Township. Personal bond was set at $500 and he was scheduled for a remote pretrial on April 3. Final pretrial is May 13. He is not to return to Meijer in Van Buren Township.
Todd Wilson Young
Todd Wilson Young of Van Buren Township was video-arraigned in custody on March 24 on charges of assault on a police officer, domestic violence, and false report of a medical or other emergency on March 21 in Van Buren Township. Personal bond was set for $1,000 and there is to be no contact of any kind with the victim, he cannot return to the place of the offense, and he can use no alcohol/drugs or mood-altering substances of any kind while on this bond. A remote pretrial was set for April 9.
Paula Marie Ashton
Paula Marie Ashton, 66, of Belleville is charged with operating while intoxicated-2nd on April 15, 2024 in the city of Belleville. The complaint was issued on Jan. 13, 2025. She was arraigned on Feb. 5 and personal bond set at $1,000. Her pretrial was set for March 19 and then was adjourned to April 30 so her retained attorney could get discovery.
