Janet Millard, coordinator of the Belleville Central Business Authority, announced July 21 that the CBC is canceling the Taste of Belleville scheduled for Aug. 20.
“We are extremely sad to do this and can only hope that 2021 will let me continue to do our events,” Millard said. “On the bright side, the Belleville Farmers’ Market is during extremely well. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by, certainly do that before the season ends.”
The Farmers’ Market is held on the Fourth Street Square from 4 to 7:30 p.m. every Monday from June through September. In other years the Farmers Market was held at the same time as the Main Street Car Show, but so far this year the car show has been unable to open.
The Belleville Bridge Walk usually is held before the Taste of Belleville and on Friday Mayor Kerreen Conley said it has yet to be discussed, but if rules are not changed in Lansing, there probably will be no Bridge Walk either. She said the city’s decision on that will be officially announced later.
