Area seniors are encouraged to warm up their backswing because Canton Club 55+ is once again hosting its annual Senior Golf Scramble on Friday, Sept. 19, at Pheasant Run Golf Club, 46500 Summit Parkway in Canton.
Ages 55 and better are encouraged to hit the links for 18 holes of golf in this four-person golf scramble, which is sponsored in part by Hampton Manor of Van Buren Township and IKEA.
This annual summer tradition includes a continental breakfast, lunch, plus a cart for a fee of $66 for Canton residents and $72 for non-residents. Come as a foursome, a twosome, or as a single player.
Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start scheduled for 9 a.m. Lunch is expected to be held at 1:30 p.m. Prizes for several on-course contests will be awarded, including men’s and women’s closest to the pin and closest to the line farthest drive. Additional door prizes will also be available. First-place men’s and women’s teams will receive a round of golf.
“We welcome all senior golfers to join in on all the fun of our annual tournament, which is played on one of the most scenic courses around,” said Canton recreation specialist Patrick Pantloni. “This annual event is always a great way for area seniors to get outdoors and enjoy a good round of golf in great fall weather.”
Registration is currently underway. Seniors are encouraged to reserve a spot by calling (734) 394-5485 or register in person now through Friday, Sept. 12, at Canton Club 55+, located in the Parkview Room of the Summit on the Park at 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton.
