Kenneth Joseph Landstrom of Van Buren Township was found guilty by a 34th District Court jury of one count of lying to a police officer and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both misdemeanors.
He had been charged with three counts of lying to police, but two charges were dropped, leaving just the charge of lying to Van Buren Township Police Lt. Kenneth Floro.
He also had been charged with lying to VBT Officer David Champagne and Sgt. A. Smith.
The trial was held on Feb. 9 before Judge Brian A. Oakley.
Landstrom was sent to the district court’s probation department for a presentence report and recommendation for the judge who will do the sentencing in the future.
Robert Coutts was retained as defense attorney.
