Savage Elementary School wants to help feed its students who will have no food over the winter break, so it is holding a food drive.
From Nov. 27 through Dec. 18, the non-perishible food items and grocery gift cards are being collected.
“Please help our kids have nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners by donating,” say school officials.
Bring items to Savage School or give to a Savage student to bring in for the drive.
Suggested items are things kids like to eat, including peanut butter, jelly, granola bars, oatmeal, soups, canned chicken, canned tuna, canned beans, pasta, pasta sauce, milk substitutes, canned vegetables, canned fruit, apple sauce, nuts, rice, and juice boxes.
Also consider hygiene items, small toys, coloring books, gloves, hats, and scarves.
