Belleville Police Officer Sarah Dzagulones was presented with a Life Saving Certificate with ribbon by Police Chief Hal Berriman at the April 17 meeting of the Belleville City Council.
He said Officer Dzagulones responded to a medical call at about midnight, March 10, at 298 Harbour Pointe Drive. He said she was met by the man’s wife at the door and found the husband on the bed, not breathing, with skin a blueish-gray color.
Officer Dzagulones began cardio-pulmonary resuscitation immediately and Cpl. Todd Schrecengost helped her remove the large man to the floor for her continued CPR.
Huron Valley Ambulance and fire fighters arrived and they agreed that due to Officer Dzagulones’ actions, she brought the man back to life and kept him breathing. Fire Chief Brian Loranger also praised the officer’s work.
