The Belleville Area District Library is organizing its first-ever local author fair for 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, and it’s looking for local authors.
The event is a chance for selected authors to get to know the local community of readers, and sell and sign their books.
To be eligible to participate, the author should be local to Southeast Michigan and have professionally bound, print copies of a book to sell during the fair. Books can be traditional or self-published, and writers for all audiences and genres are welcome.
All writers interested in participating must complete and return an Author Participant Application, available at the library and on the library’s website. It needs to be returned by no later than April 14. Applications may be returned in person at the library or scanned and emailed to [email protected] .
Amy Greschaw, adult services librarian, said although they will accept as many authors as they can, due to limited space they cannot guarantee acceptance. Authors who submit an application will be notified by email of their final selection status on Friday, April 21.
