At about 10:06 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, Van Buren Township fire fighters were called to the scene of a fire at National RV, 44700 North I-94 Service Drive. Fire fighters arrived at 10:13 p.m.
VBT Fire Department Fire Marshal Dave McInally said a transformer malfunction started a fire that ignited the roof, but fire fighters were able to put out the fire before it spread.
He said fire fighters had to wait for DTE, but DTE had a team on the ground that was ready and by morning the old transformer had been replaced.
On Friday afternoon, National RV had a fire sale advertised on its website.
