Aliens have landed at Crosswinds Marsh in Sumpter Township. Not the aliens you see in the movies, but invasive species that do not belong.
Wayne County Parks will host “Alien Invaders” at the Marsh on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will have an opportunity to hike along the wetland and forest trails to investigate the invasive plants and wildlife that have been wreaking havoc throughout Michigan.
Children will create and take home a Michigan Alien Invader booklet.
The event fee is $6 per child and $2 per adult; add $1 per person for out-of-county residents. In the event of inclement weather, such as heavy storms and rain, the program will be cancelled.
Advance registration is required. Participants may call (734) 654-1220 to register for this event. Crosswinds March is located at 27600 Haggerty Road in Sumpter Township.
