In an hour-long meeting on March 10, the Belleville Planning Commission reviewed its 33-page Sign Ordinance with the help of planning consultant Jill Bahm of ClearZoning, who put the ordinance together in 2014.
At the commission’s next meeting on April 14, Bahm will bring back recommendations for changes and will address how to deal with the temporary signs supported by a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Building Official Rick Rutherford noted that what’s available online on city ordinances is not exact and the online version needs updating. Bahm said she needs to get notice of updates as they are made.
Commissioners present at the meeting were Chairman Steve Jones, Vice-Chairman Michael Hawkins, John Juriga, Matthew Wagner, Jesse Marcotte, and Jim Fitch. Absent were Henry Kurczewski, Mike Renaud, and Becky Hasen.
