Taco Bell restaurant on Belleville Road was broken into early Saturday morning after the delivery truck left, said Van Buren Township Police Lt. Charles Bazzy.
A window was broken and the only thing taken was an undisclosed amount of money from a donation container on the counter.
The store manager said he couldn’t give the Independent any information, but did confirm that there was a donation container at the end of the counter.
He said the donations were for Teen Graduates and the money collected, with each dollar collected being matched by Taco Bell, goes to help teens graduate in some form. “It’s a very worthy cause,” the manager said.
Lt. Bazzy said the physical evidence is being investigated.
