A fire erupted in a garage in the middle of the mobile home park at 600 Sumpter Road at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Fire trucks from Van Buren Township, City of Belleville and Sumpter Township were at the scene. Belleville and Sumpter responded as part of the Automatic Mutual Aid agreement recently signed with VBT.
VBT Fire Chief Dan Besson said fire fighters saved several 4-wheelers and ATVs. He said it was a stubborn fire because they couldn’t access the fire easily because of the large amount of storage inside.
Chief Besson said the fire is of undetermined cause but they do not suspect arson.
