After appearances at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit last week, defendants Billy Ray Patrick of Belleville and Vena Mixon of Sumpter Township have been scheduled for jury trials in September.
Billy Ray Patrick
Billy Ray Patrick, 22, has a final conference set for Aug. 22 and a jury trial set for Sept. 8 on charges surrounding the shooting of his friend in the face over a dispute over marijuana.
Circuit Court Judge Thomas C. Cameron is presiding.
Vena Mixon
Vena Mixon, 47, has a final conference set for 9 a.m., Aug. 13, and a jury trial on Sept. 9 before Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Stuart Talon.
She is facing charges surrounding the alleged drawing of a gun and using her car to push a woman and her bicycle into the ditch on Judd Road.
Clarence Joseph Johnson
Charges of possession of narcotics filed against Clarence Joseph Johnson were dismissed by Judge Green before the scheduled preliminary exam on July 2.
Johnson’s bond of $4,000 personal recognizance was cancelled. Det. McCarthy was the officer in charge.
Ash Al-Awamleh
A preliminary exam on assault and weapons charges was scheduled for July 2 in district court, but defendant Ash Al-Awamleh waived the exam and Judge Green bound him over to circuit court on July 16 for an arraignment on the information.
VBT Det. Mark Buxton is lead officer on the case.
Maurice Terre Anderson
The preliminary exam for Maurice Terre Anderson was set for July 2 on charges of delivery/manufacturing of drugs, but he decided to waive the exam.
Judge Green scheduled him for a 9 a.m., July 16, arraignment on the information in circuit court. VBT Officer Derek Perez is the officer in charge.
Brian Carl Barton
Brian Carl Barton was due for his preliminary exam on operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, third, on July 2. His attorney asked for adjournment and Judge Green reset the preliminary exam for July 30 before Judge David Parrott.
Officer Ken Toney is officer in charge.
Nicholas Simon Mishler
Nicholas Simon Mishler, charged with criminal sexual conduct, third degree, was set to have his preliminary exam on July 2 and waived his exam. Judge Green bound him over to circuit court for a July 16 arraignment on the information.
Officer Toney is officer in charge.
