Court Watching: Spring Arbor resident told to keep his pants on and stay out of trouble

On April 16 at 34th District Court in Romulus the following tri-community cases were among those handled by Judge David M. Parrott.
Belleville
Rodney Keith Burke, 34, from Spring Arbor, made a plea deal that could get him out of trouble.
He pleaded “no contest” to being drunk and disorderly on Jan. 25, since he said he had no memory of the incident. He originally was charged with obscene conduct.
Burke testified that he was in Belleville that night to celebrate a buddy’s birthday. He said he “mooned” a lady at a gas station and this was not one of the highlights of his year.
Judge Parrott ordered court costs and fines of $375 and said he would take sentencing under advisement for three months. Judge Parrott warned Burke, “Keep your pants on, watch what you’re drinking and stay out of trouble.”
If Burke stays out of trouble for three months, his record will be cleared.
Van Buren Township
Deon Lemont Cooper, 39, stood with his attorney Thomas Moors for a preliminary exam on charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, improperly transporting medical marijuana in a vehicle, and driving while license suspended-2.
Cooper is known as a habitual offender and is free on $5,000/10% bond.
Cooper’s attorney asked for a three-week adjournment (postponement) to gather additional evidence, including a video of the traffic stop.
Anthony Deeabollo Lockridge, 28, known as a habitual offender, was charged on Oct. 20 with unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle and larceny in a building. He did not show up for his preliminary exam, so Judge Parrott signed a warrant for his arrest.
Christina Marie Miller, 33, standing with her attorney Brendon DeBolski, waived her right to a preliminary exam on charges of delivery/manufactured schedule-4 controlled substances.
An April 30 arraignment on the information was scheduled at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit. She is free on a $20,000 personal recognizance bond.
Chad Allen, 40, known as a habitual offender, was bound over for an April 30 arraignment on the information at circuit court at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice on charges he operated a vehicle while intoxicated charge-3, drove while license suspended-2, and possession of marijuana.
Vinson Andrea Amerson’s charges of domestic violence and assault and battery against her sister will be decided at a bench trial at 34th District Court on May 7. Vinson said she paid for her sister’s bus ticket to move to Kansas after the incident, is homeless, and would not be in court for the scheduled pretrial exam.
Samuel Maurice Banks, 32, will return to 34th District Court on May 28 to face domestic violence and assault by strangulation charges.
