Shhh! A surprise concert is set for 2 p.m., June 30, at the Belleville First United Methodist Church to honor Ruth Pollard — and you are invited.
Ruth is being honored for her 55 years of dedication to music in churches and communities where she has resided.
Her eyesight is failing, so family members think they can keep news of the big event from her until she can be surprised.
Belleville is one of the communities where she has served.
On Sunday, June 30, one hour of music will be provided by the Dan and Nancy Frank family.
The Frank family is blessed with musical talent. Dan is an excellent piano player and Kurt and Lucy, their children, have both received Master’s degrees from the University of Michigan and both sing in the Detroit Opera. Nancy is a retired Methodist minister and Kurt and Lucy grew up in the Methodist Church.
Ruth’s husband, Jim, said the program promises to be memorable and will honor Ruth in her time of declining health.
Refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to come and enjoy the concert and help make this a special day for Ruth. And, remember, don’t tell Ruth. It’s a surprise for her.
