A Van Buren Township resident told police he was robbed while taking his regular morning walk on Morton Taylor Road.
VBT Police Captain Greg Laurain said the man reported he was walking at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Morton Taylor and Van Born roads, when he heard a vehicle approach from behind and stop.
The man said an unknown subject came up behind him and stated, “I have a gun. Don’t turn around and give me your backpack.”
The man said he complied with the orders and then he was kicked in the middle of his back into the ditch. He said the unknown subject and vehicle left northbound on Morton Taylor Road.
Captain Laurain said the victim was unable to provide any suspect or vehicle information.
The man said his backpack was taken and it contained $20, a breathalyzer costing $1,100, and his wallet containing $10.
