Basement fire closes Sweet Chateau cupcake shop on Main St.

At 12:35 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, Belleville Fire Department was called to a basement fire at Sweet Chateau cupcake shop at 533 Main Street.
Fire Chief Brian Loranger said fire fighters were able to contain the fire to the basement. Two door were damaged for entry and they cut a ventilation hole in the roof, Chief Loranger said.
He said the Michigan State Fire Marshal was on the scene investigating later that day to determine the cause.
Sweet Chateau owner Victoria Thompson posted a notice on the internet that her place is boarded up, but she will fill all the orders that have been placed.
