The Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Paddle Belleville on Aug. 2 at its waterfront business at 533 Main St., Belleville.
Taking part in the ceremony were the owners and partners at Paddle Belleville: Matthew McLean, Christopher Maurer, Chris Hensley, and Scott Gocaj. Others attending included Therese Antonelli, Gary Marshall, Colette McClinton, Steve Jones, Randy Brown, Dinara Strikis, Alvis Brigis, Carmen Stovall, Belleville City Manager/Police Chief Dave Robinson, and others from the community, including customers that just came in from off the lake and were enjoying lunch on the landscaped property.
The late Chesley Odom, a professional designer, was a prior property owner and he installed the docks, boulders, and landscaping at the site.
Paddle Belleville’s ribbon-cutting, grand opening would have been held a year ago, but was postponed because of the pandemic. The business offers rentals of paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, pontoon boats, and is open seven days.
