The Van Buren Township DDA is pleased to announce a repair project on Belleville Road.
In early 2021, the VBT DDA was preparing for a sidewalk repair/replacement project and requested that the engineer also take a look at
potential repairs to a section of Belleville Road. Since Belleville Road is a Wayne County road, the DDA submitted the road repair to Wayne County as a “shovel ready” project. On Tuesday, August 3, Wayne County Roads confirmed that they had reviewed the submitted files and determined it to be a worthy project.
The repairs will be on both, the northbound and southbound, sides of Belleville Road from the South I-94 Service Road going south to the bridge entering the City of Belleville.
Wayne County Roads has advised that they will begin cutting out sections of the roadway on Thursday, August 5. The project has an estimated timeline of approximately three weeks, weather dependent.
Construction is never pleasant to deal with but this short term inconvenience will lead to long-term relief. Please be mindful of potential delays and possibly seek alternate routes.
