The Hillside Cemetery Advisory Committee has put out a call for volunteers to help place American flags at the graves of all veterans buried at Hillside. The project will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Each cemetery section takes about an hour of work, “a small sacrifice for us to honor those who fought to keep us free,” said Belleville Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Long.
“Join us to help honor our veterans as we prepare for Veterans Day 2015, an important year in the history of defending our liberty,” Long said.
