Van Buren Township Supervisor Linda Combs sent out a memo to township employees on Thursday saying she was taking a leave of absence from her office until the first of the year. Friday was her last day in the office.
On Friday, Supervisor Combs told the Independent that she is taking the break for family reasons. She said her husband’s health is not good and she needs to be by his side.
Combs emphasized she would have her tablet with her and would be getting emails, telephone calls, and be in touch with the office. She will be attending meetings and would be working from home.
Combs lives just a few blocks from township hall.
The other two full-time elected officials at the township, Clerk Leon Wright and Treasurer Sharry Budd, will fill in when necessary.

The idiots that placed all the sirens in heavy human traffic flow —
I have seen women walking there baby by one when it sounds off
There should be warning signs!!
People that have homes nearby will effect their hearing over time.
Total overkill!
Combs should just resign. She did nothing to help a resident when his water was turned off for 5 months. She does not communicate with the other board members. Her previous admin. assistant had no direction or leadership. Combs and Lamothe were led by Budd and King, also Hart&Jahr to get rid of P.White and now look at the “state of our township”!!! I wonder if Combs realizes now what a difficult time it was for White so residents have little sympathy for her. The Visteon 3 must go: Hart, Budd and Jahr.
