Van Buren Township’s new pocket park, Harris Park, just south of Aldi’s on Belleville Road has become a wildly popular destination this summer.
At Tuesday’s Zoom meeting, the VBT Downtown Development Authority voted unanimously to spend up to $10,000 to decorate the park with holiday lights and also to update the holiday lights at the triangle at Quirk and Belleville roads. Some of the decorations at the triangle could be relocated to VBT Hall.
DDA Executive Director Susan Ireland was given the task of maximizing what she could get for the $10,000 for the locations.
She had presented three price proposals that included maintenance of the decorations.
