There are so many good books needing to be recycled by the Friends of the Belleville Area District Library that they will be offering bags of books for low prices this Saturday.
At the Aug. 1 Book Sale, patrons can get a Meijer’s grocery bag full of books for $3 and a larger bag of books for $5.
Nancy Fruit of the Friends said Meijer was very generous in providing the bags for the sale.
She said there are so many books available that she and Friends’ president Tony D’Onofrio have six to eight boxes of books stored in their garages because there wasn’t enough room to keep them at the library.
They will be bringing all those boxes of books in for this big sale, she said.
Members of the Friends’ group may enter the sale from 11 a.m. until noon. The general public will be welcome from noon to 3 p.m.
Belleville High School students will be volunteering to help with the sale to earn their service hours for graduation.
Those wishing to join the Friends may do so at the sale to be able to enter early. Annual membership cost is $8 for a student and senior citizen 62 and up, $15 for an individual, and $25 for a family. Lifetime membership is $250.
The library is located at 167 Fourth St., Belleville, (734) 699-3291.
