Aug. 6-10 is a busy time in the Belleville area.
• The Wayne County Fair started Monday and will continue through Saturday at the fairgrounds on Quirk Road in Van Buren Township. The big livestock auction is tonight at 6:30.
• The Air Show ground parade with World War II military vehicles from the U.S. and Germany – and re-enactors in costume — will proceed up Main Street in Belleville from Victory Park at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday. This year a mass flyover of 20 war birds will accompany the parade.
• The 2014 Baltia Airlines Thunder Over Michigan Air Show at Willow Run Airport featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Also, the final Music Lakeside summer concert at Horizon Park in Belleville is at 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday). Playing is the Blue Steel big band.
Contractors doing the construction work on Belleville Road will not work this week end so as not to interfere with air show traffic.
