Sumpter Board OKs gas tanks for Nasser’s market on Sumpter Rd.

At its final meeting of the year, the Sumpter Township Board of Trustees approved a special exemption that was recommended by the planning commission to add service station gas pumps to Joe Nasser’s retail development at 19731 Sumpter Road.
The action also rezones and combines an adjoining parcel from R-2 to C-2 to make one parcel for the newly developing property.
The approval also detailed the site plan in regards to the parking lot area, future sidewalks, a buffering wall to the east abutting residential, and the lighting system.
No one from the audience spoke in regards to the agenda item, nor did any of the township board.
In other action, the board:
Approved a resolution for the annual Wayne County Road Maintenance Permit for 2011.
Approved the proposal from Carlisle/Wortman to be placed on retainer for $250/month
Approved closing Township Hall Dec. 24-Jan. 3.
Approved a request by the Belleville Area Council For the Arts to waive rental fee for PNA Hall for March 25-27 use.
Approved the appointment of Donna Reeves and Marlette Anderson to the Township Board of Canvassers.
Approved hiring Lovely Cleaning Service to clean township buildings on a temporary basis.
Approved the Township Board meeting dates for 2011.
Approved the 2011 meeting dates for the Planning Commission.
