River of Life Assembly of God, 16650 Sumpter Rd., Van Buren Township, invites the public to join in its anniversary weekend, Aug. 12-14, to celebrate the 20 years since it was formed in 2002.
The weekend will kick off at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12, with a night to “Honor the Past,” as it reflects on its journey with the founding pastors, the Rev. Paul and Mary Marcum.
Saturday is “We are the Church Day” when the church will bless the community with random acts of kindness and gift card giveaways at local gas stations and grocery stores. The celebration continues with a family fun night, with food trucks and fireworks, beginning at 7 p.m. on the church grounds.
On Sunday the weekend will conclude with its 10:30 a.m. service, “Leading into the Future,” including water baptisms and guest speaker Dr. Bradley Trask, Assistant Superintendent of the Michigan Assembly of God Ministry Network.
