At about 11:02 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, the pharmacist at CVS in Van Buren Township received a call from an unknown male telling her to do as he said and put all the Oxycontin she could get inside a CVS bag and put it in the drive-through drawer.
VBT Police Captain Greg Laurain reported that the pharmacist told the caller that she had complied with his orders and placed the plastic bag full of drugs in the drawer.
An unknown individual walked up and took the bag from the drawer before running away. Captain Laurain said the pharmacist could not provide a good description of the individual.
Laurain said about 2,000 pills were stolen from CVS and there were no other leads, as of Monday.
The CVS store is located at 10915 Belleville Road.
