34th District Court Chief Judge Tina Brooks Green announces the appointment of Lisa Robinson Martin of Van Buren Township as part-time attorney magistrate for the court.
Presently, Court Administrator Alan Hindman also acts in the capacity of non-attorney magistrate. Following the ground-breaking ceremony for the new court, Hindman adds to his duties the oversight of the building construction project.
Judge Green said this will take significant time from Hindman’s schedule, so Martin will help back up for Hindman, along with expanding services the court will be able to offer the public.
Pursuant to state law, the court asked the City of Romulus to approve this appointment, which it did at its April 23 meeting.
Martin and her husband, Van Buren Township Trustee Kevin Martin, have lived in VBT for 12 years. She unsuccessfully ran for 34th District Court judge in 2014.
Martin earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard University and her law degree from the University of Michigan and has been practicing law for 20 years, mainly in district courts.
