The McBride Middle School PTO would like to thank all of the participants, sponsors, and volunteers at the First Annual McBride Color Run/Walk that was held on Saturday, May 19.
The weather was not quite as dry as we had hoped, but the participants all had fun raising money for the students of McBride. The snowy white tee-shirts most participants started with were all colors of the rainbow by the time they finished!
Thanks especially to all of our sponsors, who are always so giving to the community and to the students. We are very lucky to live in such a generous community. Our Tee-Shirt Level sponsors were the Animal Medical Center Van Buren, the BYC, McShane’s Pub, Perspective Eyecare, Pinter’s Flowerland, ReMax Belleville Glenn Silvenis, and US Ecology. Our Registration Table Level Donors were Atchinson Ford and Frosty Boy. Our Concession Table Level Donors were Garden Fantasy on Main and Remerica Janice Marshall as well as P and P Dance Studio. Thanks to A Design Line Embroidery for the donation of gear bags for the participants. Donations of items for our Basket Raffle came from A&W, Denny’s Barber Shop and Hot Hair Salon, Lodge Lanes, Lynne LulaRoe and Bro, LuLaRoe– Sara Pittman, McShane’s Pub, the Melidosian Family, Romulus Athletic Center, and Sky Zone. Special thanks to Ahearn Signs for donating our Color Run signs!
Thanks, as well, to all of our volunteers. We really appreciate the parents who came out on a damp morning to help us set up and then manned the course. The McBride administration and teachers were awesome — all three administrators were helping at the event and several teachers helped spray color at runners/walkers, among other jobs. A special shout out to McBride’s top DJ, Mr. Mills, who kept the event rocking!
Having spent the entire school year working with the McBride team now, we would like to say how exceptional the entire McBride staff is — from the principal to the custodians. McBride implemented its new 2.0 program this year and it has been a huge success. All of the staff at McBride really care about the students and go above and beyond for them — even down to the lunch ladies gathering spare coins from their purses for students to have a lunch. If you have a student who will be going into 7th or 8th grade, we strongly urge you to give McBride a try. We have all been very happy with our experience there.
Hope to see you next year at the Second Annual McBride Color Run/Walk
