A new company formed by Jeffrey Riggs of Belleville, called OzCharge America, LLC, won the “Best Safety Product for APPEX 2018” award in Las Vegas on Oct. 30.
APPEX/SEMA is the second-largest tradeshow in America, with more than 162,000 attendees, second only to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
APPEX stands for Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo. SEMA stands for Specialty Equipment Market Association.
APPEX/SEMA focuses on specialty automotive accessories and the newest car technology.
Riggs said his Belleville company won the safety award for its jump starter that has no batteries, starts cars, and can be stored in a car, truck, RV, and especially boats for 10 years with no regular charging like lithium jump starters.
“We’ll start your engine when your battery fails,” Riggs said, emphasizing, “It’s a Belleville company!”

My son Kris, who lives in Okinawa and I am now visiting, said he remembers him in school where they did some electronic projects. Kris now lives in Okinawa and I just showed him the article – I am currently visiting him. Kris said he thinks Jeff’s Dad was an airline pilot. I now live in Missouri when not visiting my son Tim in Berlin, Kris in Okinawa and thankfully Eric in Missouri.
