Javon Pherras Stacks, 36, is scheduled for a preliminary exam before 34th District Court Judge David Parrott on Dec. 4.
Stacks is charged with abandoning/cruelty to 10 or more animals, but fewer than 25, on Aug. 15 in Romulus. he also is charged with two separate charges of abandoning/cruelty to one animal on the same date.
In the past, Stacks reportedly had some animals located in a closed store at Belle Plaza in Belleville, which brought complaints to Belleville city Hall, and later in a location in Lakeside shopping center in Van Buren Township. The charges he faces now are from a Romulus location.
According to reports, several local people have been subpoenaed to testify at the Dec. 4 exam. Court records identify Stacks’ defense attorney as Eric Clark.
Stacks is free on $5,000 personal bond.
