Gov. Snyder reappoints James Kilmark to Board of Osteopathic Medicine

Huron Valley Ambulance, a member of Emergent Health Partners, is recruiting for its Volunteer Team and looking for people interested in training for a variety of volunteer positions.
A volunteer can train to be an emergency medical responder at special events or to assist with community education, awareness programs, or administrative tasks.
Emergent Health volunteers may serve in any of HVA’s service area — Washtenaw, western Wayne or southwest Oakland counties, as well as volunteer at University of Michigan football games and other large events in southeast and south central Michigan.
Information meeting and pizza
An information meeting with pizza and drinks will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Emergent Health Partners/Huron Valley Ambulance Headquarters, 1200 State Circle, Ann Arbor 48108
At the meeting, there will be information about the volunteer teams — Emergency Medical Responders, Community Relations and Administrative Support — and be able to apply for a position. Pizza and drinks will be served.
FREE training for Emergency Medical Responders
Volunteers who wish to serve as Emergency Medical Responders can take a free eight-week training course that starts on Feb. 22, in Ann Arbor. Classes meet on Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 10:30 p.m. and three Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Upon completion, the volunteer may take the state exam to be licensed as an Emergency Medical Responder. Free training is also provided for volunteers interested in community education and administrative support.
All volunteers will be asked to make a one-year commitment to the program and complete a minimum number of hours and/or serve at events in addition to orientation and training.
