A plea for comments or suggestions was put at each place setting at tables for Saturday’s annual BHS All-Class Reunion event, urging those attending to help volunteers figure out what to do.
The request explained the event is in jeopardy of folding unless they have more participation of classes after 1971.
“The same classmates have been planning the annual reunion since its inception and we are tired and worn out trying to come up with ideas to get graduates from the classes in the 1980s through today.
“We have done this for many years and the attendance continues to decline. [There were slightly more than 100 present on Saturday.]
“Do you have grandchildren, great-grandchildren that graduated from BHS? What would they say? Any ideas you may have are welcome …” the form said.
The simple reunion begins with tours of BHS, shopping in the school store, a few welcoming remarks, and dinner, with members of the BHS National Honor Society helping disabled alumni get their food and carry their plates. This year School Supt. Pete Kudlak helped clear plates from the tables as alumni went on with their chatting.
“Should we continue next year or not?” asked volunteer chairperson Linda Clayton, ’71. She said that will be determined at the wrapup meeting coming up. What do you think?
