Another raucous meeting in Van Buren Township. On Tuesday, Channel 4 interviewed VBT Trustee Sherry Frazier at the board table before the meeting started and then recorded part of the board meeting before leaving.
John Delaney, a township resident who has been absent from the last few board meetings but usually is around to comment on activities, warned the supervisor that there was a storm brewing in the township.
He said the media was called in before the meeting and that shouldn’t be done. He referred to previous years when recall elections were held after the storms brewed and Detroit media was called in.
“This backstabbing needs to stop,” he said. “Stop doing this garbage!”
Trustee Miller said there was an insinuation that somebody called the media and, “I didn’t.” Trustee Frazier said somebody did and Delaney agreed. Supervisor McNamara said he didn’t call the media.
Later McNamara said to Frazier, “Three weeks ago, you knew … I warned you it would happen…” He referred to the media and a shoplifting charge against Frazier that was due to go to court the next day.
“There is a storm brewing,” Frazier replied. “Unless the supervisor does something about it.” Clerk Wright has been targeted recently for his out-of-state trips and now the storm is brewing Frazier’s way.

Mr. Delaney is right again…..this board needs to improve their communication and stop the back-stabbing. It was not necessary to call the press, all it did was bring negative attention to our community. The board is supposed to support one another even if they disagree on an issue.
We have the most dysfunctional and self-serving board I’ve ever seen here. Originally, I thought all but a small few need to be removed. Recent actions have proven that the township would be better off with a clean slate. Remove them all, start from scratch. There will be a slow learning curve, but it’s better than the corruption currently going on.
I partially disagree with Fired Up, there is no corruption with Trustee Miller or Trustee White. Trustee Frazier will have a difficult time with credibility after reading about her past history. The other trustee doesn’t say much. That would be pretty drastic to “start from scratch” but yes there is corruption and political agendas and it comes from a political machine. A seat on the board should not be awarded on the basis of service to the machine. Machines operate on oil and grease; they’re dirty, dehumanizing, and too often unresponsive to any needs but those of the operator.
You just listed the 2 of the board by name that I trust most. A few weeks ago, I would have said you just named 3 of the board I trust most. I’ll agree that wiping them all out may have been a harsh reaction due to the actions of a trustee that I originally liked. But 5 of 7 need to go, and most importantly, the board members that are not trustees.
Sticky-Finger Frazer bring drama everywhere she goes. No suprise here. I wonder how much she’s taken from taxpayers.
