Ryan John-Thomas Nyman, 34, waived his preliminary exam before Judge David Parrott at 34th District Court on Aug. 12 and was bound over to face charges on Aug. 19 at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit.
Nyman is lodged in the Wayne County Jail on $50,000/10% bond on a charge of assault by strangulation and domestic violence on July 26 in Sumpter Township.
Sumpter Township Officer Joshua Scaglione is in charge of the case.
Nyman’s attorney asked for a reduction of bond and Judge Parrott referred the matter to pretrial services for a recommendation to the circuit court judge who will hear the case.

Harvey Lee Spencer, Jr., 24, waived his preliminary exam before Judge Parrott and was bound over to circuit court on Aug. 26 to face a weapons charge from a July 24 incident in Sumpter Township.
He is free on $1,000/10% bond. Sumpter Officer Elizabeth Egerer is in charge of the case.
