Paul Elexander Furman, 28, of the City of Belleville, is charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and domestic violence on Aug. 21 in Belle Villa mobile home park.
He was present before 34th District Court Judge Brian A. Oakley on Sept. 1 from the Wayne County Jail where he was being held on bond of $20,000/10%. His defense attorney Wanda Cal said she did not have discovery and so the probable cause conference was adjourned until Sept. 22 and then adjourned to Oct. 20.
The live preliminary exam was set for Nov. 23 and after the exam he was bound over to circuit court. The bind-over packet was sent to circuit court on Dec. 10 and he was arraigned on the information Jan. 12. A calendar conference was set for Feb. 22 before Judge Mark Slavens and then set for Feb. 24. He failed to appear, so a warrant is out for his arrest. A final conference was set for April 14.
Stephen Micheal Baker
Stephen Micheal Baker, 55, of Van Buren Township, waived his preliminary exam on Aug. 25 before Judge Oakley and was bound over to circuit court for a Sept. 8 arraignment on the information. He is charged with operating while intoxicated–3rd offense on Dec. 1, 2020 in Sumpter Township. His $5,000 personal bond was continued.
The Sept. 8 date was reset by the court until Sept. 16 and then a calendar conference was set for Sept. 30 and the final conference was set for Nov. 18 before Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Mark Slavens. The final conference was reset to Feb. 10. The pre-trial was Feb. 15 and then reset to Feb. 28 and then continued to March 25 and then to April 14.
Tony Keith Duncan
Tony Keith Duncan, 52, of Van Buren Township waived his preliminary exam before Judge Oakley on Aug. 25 and was bound over to circuit court for a Sept. 8 arraignment on the information. A pre-trial conference was held on Nov. 15 and a final conference was set for Feb. 3. He was free on $5,000 personal bond.
Duncan was charged with possession of narcotics or cocaine less than 25 grams and six felony firearms – weapons charges on July 16, 2019, brought by MNET.
On Feb. 3 he pled guilty to possession of controlled substances (narcotic or cocaine) less than 25 grams and the other charges were dismissed. Sentencing was set for March 31, and then adjourned to April 7 at the request of the court.
Toni Lynn-Marie Davis
Toni Lynn-Marie Davis, 31, of Ypsilanti, was before Judge Oakley on Sept. 1. She was arraigned and had her pre-trial adjourned until Sept. 15 so defense attorney Jeffrey Bennett could get his discovery.
Davis is charged with one count of assault or assault and battery on June 19 in Van Buren Township.
On Sept. 15, Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Jane Gillis said she had sent the discovery and Bennett said he doesn’t have it and wants the video, as well. Judge Green adjourned the pre-trial until Oct. 6. The final pre-trial was set for Oct. 27 and then reset to Nov. 10.
On Nov. 10, the victim was present, and although a plea deal was presented by Prosecutor Gillis, attorney Bennett asked for an adjournment so he could discuss this at length with his client. Judge Martin adjourned it until Dec. 1 after Bennett said defense would waive the required presence of the victim at that time.
Gillis had proposed to reduce the charge if Davis pled guilty to assault and battery, under advisement for six months, an anger management class, and $1,600 restitution.
On Dec. 1 a live bench trial was set for Jan. 12, but a motion by the defendant was made instead and the charge was dismissed by Judge Green with an order of nolle prosequi (will no longer prosecute) entered.
Jerry Cornell Dickerson
Jerry Cornell Dickerson, 57, of Lincoln Park was due in court on Sept. 1 to be arraigned and have a probable cause conference on one count of larceny by conversion, between $1,000 and $20,000, on Nov. 23 in Van Buren Township. He failed to appear and a warrant was put out for his arrest.
Alexis Amalia Fusco
Alexis Amalia Fusco, 36, of Dearborn Heights, is charged with operating while intoxicated-3rd offense and violation of license restrictions in Van Buren Township on July 13. She was present before Judge Oakley on Sept. 1 for her arraignment and personal bond was set at $1,000. Her attorney Natalie Phelps said she needed discovery so the probable cause conference was adjourned until Sept. 8. At that time a live preliminary exam was set for Oct. 20. After it was held, Judge Green bound her over to circuit court for an arraignment on the information on Nov. 3 and a calendar conference set for Nov. 19. A final conference was set for Feb. 10. A review date is May 10.
William Fosterludwig Loesel
William Fosterludwig Loesel, 38, of Van Buren Township is charged with unarmed robbery, assault with intent to rob while unarmed, larceny from the person, interfering with electronic communication, larceny from $200-$1,000, and reckless driving on Aug. 26 in Van Buren Township.
His probable cause conference was set for Sept. 8 and then adjourned until Sept. 22. At that time a live exam was set for Nov. 3 and on that date Loesel waived his exam and Judge Martin bound him over to circuit court for a Nov. 17 arraignment on the information, which was adjourned until Dec. 7. At circuit court in a plea deal, he pled guilty to reckless driving, assault or assault and battery, and malicious destruction of property. In exchange, the other five charges were dropped. On Jan. 12 he was sentenced to two years of probation, anger management classes, and fees totaling $1,434.
Crystal Dawn Cunningham
Crystal Dawn Cunningham, 36, of Westland was charged with fleeing a police officer in a vehicle, reckless driving, driving while license was suspended/revoked/denied, and open alcohol container in vehicle on Aug. 27 in Sumpter Township. She was before Judge Green on Sept. 8 and her probable cause conference was adjourned until Sept. 22. At that time a live exam was set for Dec. 15. On Dec. 15 she waived her preliminary exam and she was bound over to circuit court for a Dec. 29 arraignment on the information. The arraignment on the information was held Jan. 6 and a calendar conference set for Feb. 4 and continued to March 8. Final conference is March 21 adjourned until April 1. Her personal bond had been set at $25,000.
Brandon Travis Bielski
Brandon Travis Bielski, 35, of Van Buren Township was before Judge Green on Sept. 8 for a probable cause conference on charges of possession of methamphetamine/Ecstasy and third-degree retail fraud on Sept. 27, 2020 in Van Buren Township. The probable cause conference was adjourned until Oct. 6. His live preliminary exam was set for Jan. 5. Bielski was free on $10,000 personal bond. On Jan. 5 he failed to appear for his exam and so Judge Oakley signed a bench warrant for his arrest.
He also is facing a charge of larceny under $200 on Oct. 20 in Van Buren Township. He was scheduled for a remote pre-trial on Feb. 17 on that charge, but failed to appear.
Kevin Laverne Rowley
Kevin Laverne Rowley, 24, of Wayne waived his preliminary exam before Judge Green on Sept. 8 and was bound over to circuit court for an arraignment on the information on Sept. 22 which was reset by the court to Oct. 27. Then it was reset to Nov. 19. A calendar conference was set for Feb. 4 and then the pretrial for March 22. That was reset by the court to April 11.
Rowley is charged with unauthorized driving away of a motor vehicle and concealing a stolen motor vehicle on June 1 when he drove off in a Belleville police car. He is free on $10,000 personal bond and has been ordered to take his prescribed medication and nothing else and stay with his father in Wayne.
