Ashley Vanburen, 28, of Manchester, agreed to a plea deal on her charge of possession of methamphetamine/Ecstasy in Van Buren Township on April 21, 2018.
She was before 34th District Court Chief Judge Tina Brooks Green on Nov. 27.
Vanburen pled guilty to use of a controlled substance without a prescription. She told Judge Green she had been prescribed one medication and she got the other medication from a friend.
Vanburen said she is clean now and is a stay-at-home mom with children ages 11 and 6 and lives with help from the children’s father. She lives an hour away and had come to Van Buren Township to help a friend.
Judge Green sentenced her to probation with testing for drugs and alcohol, which can be done in her community. Judge assessed costs and other fees, which totaled $925. Vanburen had been on personal bond of $5,000.
Kyle David Hahn
Kyle David Hahn, 29, waived his preliminary exam and was bound over to circuit court for an arraignment on the information on Dec. 11. Judge Green continued his personal bond of $10,000.
Hahn is charged with fleeing police in a vehicle and operating while intoxicated in Sumpter Township on Aug. 23. His retained attorney is Joshua Nucian.
Rennie Ray Brooks
Charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon on Nov. 10 in Van Buren Township were dismissed against Rennie Ray Brooks, 49.
He had been lodged on bond of $5,000/10%.
Stephanie Renee Sutton
Stephanie Renee Sutton, 34, of Belleville, waived her preliminary exam on a charge of possession of narcotics or cocaine of less than 25 grams on June 27 in Van Buren Township.
Judge Green bound Sutton over to circuit court for a Dec. 11 arraignment on the information. Her $5,000 personal bond was continued. Her defense attorney is from the Neighborhood Defender Service.
