Belleville Police Officer Tim Trombley bought a bus with his personal funds and had it outfitted as a police/fire command center.
Police Chief Hal Berriman said the interior has four big screens and with the cameras placed around the recent Strawberry Festival they were able to see it all on the screens and head off any crowd problems.
He said Officer Trombley will keep the command center at his residence since the city doesn’t have space to store it.
