At 10:30 p.m. last Thursday, April 11, Belleville police were called to 308 Oxford Court in Victoria Commons for a domestic dispute.
Belleville Police Chief Gene Taylor said when officers were en route to the home they were informed it was more than a domestic dispute, since the wife had allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest.
The 53-year-old husband was transported to the hospital and the wife taken into custody.
Sealisa Marie Jones, 43, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault) and Aggravated Domestic Violence and arraigned over the weekend. She is scheduled for a preliminary exam at 34th District Court at 9 a.m. April 24.
The son had called police after the stabbing, Chief Taylor said. The couple reportedly had been arguing over money.
Officers handling the case were Cpl. Todd Schrencengost and Officers Joshua Wolfe and Jonathon Heimstra.
