Augusta Township will hold its third Car Show and Swap Meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, at Lincoln Consolidated High School, 7425 Willis Rd., one-half mile west of Whittaker Road.
Dan Woolf, 2019 Car Show Chairman, invites everyone’s participation and promotions of everyone’s businesses.
“Our mission is to build up our community and promote the local services in our area,” Woolf said. “To encourage a larger attendance, we will not be charging any fees to show cars, booths, or displays.”
Woolf said the 2017 show had 110 cars and motorcycles, some tractors, Sheriff and fire truck displays and other events, with well over 300 attending.
In 2018, there still was good participation, including the local senior group and township officials.
“We hope to increase attendance this year by encouraging our local farmers to come with fresh produce and are inviting our local government agencies to be a part of this event,” he said.
“To promote our local businesses there is no charge to set up booths and displays or to include you on our display board,” Woolf said. “Goodie Bags will be given to the first 100 cars and we encourage your coupons, flyers, cards and promotional products to be included by Aug. 16. Donated promotional gifts are solicited for people’s choice awards given to the best of the show.”
Call Woolf at (734) 604-7536 for pick up or ship to Augusta Township offices.
“Contact us for advance registration, but if not, we still would love to have your support,” Woolf said.
Any donations can be made to Augusta Charter Township, 8021 Talladay Rd., P.O. Box 100, Whittaker, MI 48190-0100, phone (734) 461-6117 and fax (734) 256-1984.
